I started using WordPress primarily as an avenue to share photos of Penang, a small but beautiful island off the west coast of Peninsular Malaysia. Despite having being born and bred here (and spending most of my life thus far), there is still always something that amazes me on every street or corner of this island, and in particularly the city of George Town. At the same time, by maintaining and writing on this site, it helps me to rediscover the rich heritage and history of the island, and therefore, is every bit a learning journey for me too. For instance, not many know that Cheong Fatt Tze mansion is one of the two such mansions outside China; Cannon Street is named so because of the cannons being fired during a riot back in the old days; or that Dr Sun Yat-sen had his first speech in Penang at the Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Centre, and so forth.
Hence, I hope this site will serve as an informative place to provide pictorial discovery of Penang.

I love drawing since I was small and I found that photography itself provides another expression of art. My photos are usually taken with my compact cameras and/or mobile phone camera and most of them are edited via Photoshop. I enjoy taking photos and then experimenting on them with Photoshop (or as most refer to it as photo manipulation).
