A beautiful art mural created by street artist Emmanuel Jarus. This artwork titled “Looking Up” depicts a woman (Caryn Koh) looking up from presumably her mobile phone which is being held on her palm. This mural, apparently the largest one in the country, is easily visible if one passes by 1st Avenue shopping mall along Magazine Road. It is painted on the wall of the shopping mall building in George Town.
Jarus is a Canadian mural artist who usually paints the people he meets during his travel.
While in Penang during Christmnas, one may head to the various shopping malls to have a look at the many Christmas decorations. Two of the notable ones are in 1st Avenue Mall (largest Christmas tree) and Queensbay Mall (birdhouses and snowman).
A statue of the Chinese God of Prosperity (at the entrance of 1st Avenue Mall) bidding good fortune to all who enter…and before it’s too late (it’s the 3rd day of the Chinese New Year now), wishing all those who are celebrating it, a very Happy Chinese New Year!
