This steel rod sculpture located at a building at Acheen Street, depicts a rope being tied to the window presumably by someone trying to escape from the building. The building was used to be a prison before it was later converted to a warehouse.

Penang Isle: Acheen Street

The Acheen Street (Lebuh Acheh), is a street in George Town within the heritage zone itself. The street derives its name from the Acehnese community that lived there in the olden days. The street is also the home to the Acheen Street Mosque, an old and historical mosque. The mosque is right at the junction formed by Acheen Street and Cannon Street.
