The Second Penang Bridge, or officially known as Sultan Abdul Halim Muadzam Shah Bridge, is now the longest bridge in Southeast Asia spanning 24-kilometer of length over the sea. It connects Bandar Cassia in Seberang Perai on the mainland Peninsular Malaysia with Batu Maung on Penang Island. The project construction started in late 2008 and was completed in 2014, with the bridge opening to the public on 1 March 2014.
