Mid-Autumn Lantern Festival 2026 @ Armenian Park

Armenian Park in the heart of George Town has been transformed into a vibrant “Mid-Autumn in Nanyang” celebration for 2026, with hundreds of pink lanterns, elaborate floral displays and a striking golden phoenix creating a colourful festive setting against the surrounding heritage streetscape. The decorations, inspired by Penang’s Nanyang cultural heritage and Baba Nyonya influences, were lit up on 6 September 2026 and will remain at the park for about a month, with a Mid-Autumn Festival carnival scheduled for 19 September. For visitors exploring George Town, Armenian Park is an easy stop to add to an evening heritage walk, offering a colourful backdrop for photographs and a chance to experience Penang’s festive atmosphere after dark.

Mid-Autumn Lantern Festival 2025 @ Armenian Park

Armenian Park (in George Town) was transformed into a vibrant lantern wonderland during the Pesta Tanglung Tanjong 2025 Mid-Autumn Festival, with glowing lanterns, floral displays, and colourful arches making it a photogenic hotspot. Visitors flocked to the park with phones ready “selfies” or “wefies”, capturing the festive lights and decorative installations.

The atmosphere combined traditional elements (lanterns, mooncake vibes) with modern street festivity, creating a communal space of warmth, visual delight, and cultural celebration.
