Butterworth Street Art: Fishing

A large mural painted on the back wall of an old shop at Butterworth’s old town, featuring a man sitting above the sea with a fishing rod. This art work showcases the origin of the area whereby it was a fishing village and jetty that later thrived into a busy trading port. This mural is part of the series of works of the Butterworth Street Art Alley.

Butterworth Street Art: The Old Jetty Street Art (Mural Warisan)

A new addition to the heritage of Butterworth, this large mural is painted by local artists (Zart Zaini and Kasturi Studio) featuring the old Butterworth. Titled “Mural Warisan”, it showcases the original scene of the old shophouses that existed in the 1950s before the current high rise building was built.

The area was used to be an empty land that traders gathered for goods coming from the nearby old jetty. This art work can be found at Jalan Jeti Lama, Butterworth.
