An angel painted by Norway’s artist Martin Whatson for the Different Strokes international street art festival which was held a couple of months ago. This beautiful mural can be found on a wall of a building located along the street of Nagore Square.

Penang Street Art (Watering the Potted Flowers)

Watering Plants Art

Likely drawn during the Different Strokes street art festival, this little mural can be found at a corner shophouse of Noordin Street and Brick Kiln Road (or Gurdwara Road), George Town. This mural was painted by Thai artist Muebon (or Bon).

Penang Street Art (Raja Uda Giant Mural by Martin Ron)

Another giant mural found in Raja Uda, Butterworth. This mural was painted by Martin Ron in May and depicts a man (a friend of the artist) seated with turtles floating around. Located behind a row of shoplots across the road from Sabek’s mural, this giant mural was also drawn in conjunction with the Different Strokes street art exhibition.

Penang Street Art (Raja Uda Giant Mural by Sabek)

This rather large abstract mural was painted by Sabek, a Spanish artist during the Different Strokes street art exhibition period. It can be easily seen at the side wall of a shop facing the main road of Raja Uda, Butterworth. Jalan Raja Uda (or Raja Uda Road) is one of the main roads in Butterworth.

A street art mural by Spanish artist Sath for the Different Strokes street art festival held in Penang. This mural, along with several others, can be found at the derelict shophouses located along the now closed Maxwell Road in George Town.

In April, Hin Bus Depot Art Centre and UK’s Graffiti Prints launched a collaborative project that featured street arts from various international artists (15 of them) at several areas in George Town, one of them being the old ruined shophouses located along Maxwell Road (Jalan Maxwell). The decaying walls and ruined structures of the once thriving area made up a nice canvas for the display of the street arts.

The project was titled Different Strokes street art exhibition and the art works can also be found at the Hin Bus Depot Art Centre.
