Located at Dato Keramat Road and near KOMTAR, GAMA Supermarket & Departmental Store is one of the oldest surviving department store established in Penang. Having first opened in 1980, the nostalgic building had undergone multiple renovations throughout the years and still has a large base of local customers.

The Ng Kongsi at King Street

The Ng Kongsi is a Cantonese clan association that is located at King Street, George Town. Its building has a unique Chinese architecture that features a jagged or zig-zag shaped roofline. The shape is designed such to display an element of fire, according to local belief.

George Town Street View: Jalan Dinding (Dinding Lane)

Jalan Dinding or Dinding Lane is a small and short street that is linked with Transfer Road in George Town. Although it is a lane, its Malay translation is “Jalan” – meaning Road, just like the similarly styled Hutton Lane being called Jalan Hutton. Dinding Lane is found to be named after The Dindings (now known as Manjung), part of the old Straits Settlements region.
