Koay Teow Soup (commonly known here as “Koay Teow Th’ng” locally), is a dish usually consists of koay teow (translated literally as ricecake strips), fish balls, duck meat or pork, lettuce and spring onions cooked in a bowl of hot clear broth. This particular stall is quite popular with the locals and is located at Hutton Lane, George Town.

This large art mural is created by UK artist Thomas Powell, as part of his Chinese Zodiac art series in Penang. Named “Dripping Dragon” by the artist, the art work depicts a dragon on horseback, who is wearing an ancient Chinese warrior costume. This art work can be found at Hutton Lane, George Town.

Penang Street Food: Snake Temple’s Seafood Porridge (Lim Kee)

Located just outside the Penang Snake Temple in Bayan Lepas, there is this food stall called Lim Kee Famous Seafood Porridge. Its popular porridge menu includes mixed seafood, prawns and fried grouper fish porridge (there is also an option for noodles). This stall is a popular dinner and supper place for the locals here.
It is closed on Wednesdays and usually opens from 5pm till 10:30pm.
