
George Town Street View: The Abandoned Heritage



Located at Bagan Luar, Butterworth, the Dato Haji Ahmad Badawi Hall and Community Center building was built during the British colonial era and served as a recreation club building back during that time. It was later renamed in honor of the late father of former Malaysia’s Prime Minister, Dato Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.


Arulmigu Sri Mahamariamman Temple is one of the oldest Hindu temples in George Town and is located in Penang’s Little India along Queen Street. The historical temple was built in 1833 and is also known as Sri Mahamariamman Temple.
On a side note, Thaipusam festival was also held on 8 January this year in Penang.
