Irrawaddy Road

Irrawaddy Road

Irrawaddy Road (or Jalan Irrawadi) is a small road in George Town that can be accessed via Burmah Road and Northam Road. It is named after the Irrawaddy River or Ayeyarwady River in Myanmar due to the nearby presence of the Burmese and Thai communities back in the old days.

This area used to be a residential area with a few government servants quarters, but in recent times, several eateries and cafes have opened in the nearby areas.
