A beautiful art mural created by street artist Emmanuel Jarus. This artwork titled “Looking Up” depicts a woman (Caryn Koh) looking up from presumably her mobile phone which is being held on her palm. This mural, apparently the largest one in the country, is easily visible if one passes by 1st Avenue shopping mall along Magazine Road. It is painted on the wall of the shopping mall building in George Town.
Jarus is a Canadian mural artist who usually paints the people he meets during his travel.
These low cost flats located off Macallum Street Ghaut as well as Cecil Street Ghaut have been around for some time, built since the 1980s. They are also located nearby to the center of George Town.
One of these flats had once been my home for more than 10 years.

Combining a blend of various lines and colors, this large art work was painted by Jesus Moreno (Y.E.S), a Spanish artist who was one of the participants of the Urban Xchange street art festival held in 2015. This 100-meters mural can be found on the front facade of Hotel Jen which is located along Magazine Road in George Town.
