The Hindu temple at the top of Penang Hill is a beautiful temple adorned with intricate sculptures of Hindu deities. The temple is named Sri Aruloli Thirumurugan and is one of the oldest Hindu temples in Penang. The temple was reportedly started off in the 1800s as a small shrine to the Hindu deity Murugan and after years of expansion, became its present state.

On a side note, Happy Deepavali to all Hindus out there.

Kampung Malabar

Kampung Malabar is actually a street that links up Penang Road and Cintra Street in George Town. Its name was derived from a Malabari village during the 19th century. The Malabaris were originally from Kerala, India and were artisan construction workers. The area was later dominated by the Chinese and Japanese during the 1900s.

In conjunction with the Urban Xchange street art festival for 2015 in Penang, this giant white tiger mural was painted at a small lane between two heritage townhouses at Stewart Lane, George Town. This mural was painted by Japanese artist TWOONE/ Hiroyasu Tsuri.

Penang Isle: Penang Free School

Founded by Reverend Robert Sparke Hutchings, Penang Free School is the oldest English school in Southeast Asia which was also the first colonial era school to open to all children of any race or religion. On the 6th February 1816, a committee headed by Hutchings, submitted a proposal of the establishment of a school to the Governor of the Prince of Wales Island and on the 21st of October 1816, Penang Free School was established. The school is located at Jalan Masjid Negeri, or Green Lane.

Located away from the main roads and popular tourist areas in Penang, Linear Park (or Taman Jajar) is a rather hidden public park that has a beautiful landscape reminiscence of the Taiping Lake Garden, with its rain trees.

Linear Park runs along the Ayer Itam River, and is linked to the Suffolk House via a red brick bridge. The park is located at York Road, Penang.

Another mural featuring what appears to be Marilyn Monroe sitting on a bench holding a mobile phone with a luggage beside. A creation by Yakuzart Creation, this art work can be found at the wall along the alley to Grand Swiss Hotel in Chulia Street, George Town.
