Penang Street View: A Temple of Lanterns
The old Kuan Yin Temple lighted up at night with lanterns during Chinese New Year. Located at Jalan Masjid Kapitan Keling, it is one of the oldest Chinese temples in Penang.
Penang Chinese New Year Celebration (Miao Hui)
Preparations underway for Miao Hui, a Chinese New Year Celebration that will be held in George Town on 28th January 2023 from 4pm to 11pm at the heritage area from the Esplanade to the Khoo Kongsi. The celebration includes various cultural performances, food and most of the Penang Chinese clan houses will be open for public visit. It was found that the first Miao Hui event was also held in 1999, which was also the Year of Rabbit.
Penang Buddhist Association
Completed in 1931, the Penang Buddhist Association is located along Anson Road in George Town. The old Straits Eclectic style building is a popular place for Buddhists in Penang to participate in various religious and communal activities.
Apart from Wesak Day, many people also usually visit it on the first day of Chinese New Year for new year prayers.

A View of Toh Aka Lane
Lorong Toh Aka (Toh Aka Lane) is located at the heart of the heritage zone in George Town and is an old and rather narrow street. The street was said to be the home of iron smiths back in the old days. Rows of pre-war heritage style townhouses line up the street and majority of these houses belong to the Cheah clan community.

Penang Perspective: The Old Macallum Flats
A view of the old Macallum Street Ghaut PDC Flats, one of the earliest low-cost high rise residences in Penang. These flats were built by the Penang Development Corporation (PDC) in the 1980s following a land reclamation.
Penang Esplanade Promenade
The newly upgraded promenade of the Esplanade in George Town, Penang. The 570-metre promenade upgrade infuses the old historical seawall of the Esplanade along with a new walkway. The old seawall was found to be built since the early 1800s.
During high tide season, a special lower section of the walkway will be filled with seawater and if the time is right, one can even wade through the saltwater via the walkway.
Penang Perspective: Boon San Tong Khoo Kongsi
Located along Victoria Street and built in 1878, Boon San Tong Khoo Kongsi is is one of the two ancestral temples which belong to the Khoo clan in Penang.
