Shops along Carnavon Street, George Town, are selling old traditional Chinese lanterns in anticipation of the upcoming Chinese Lunar New Year festival.
Every night until 27 February 2014, the Kek Lok Si temple complex will be illuminated with decorative lanterns and lights in celebration of the Chinese New Year. One of the most visited site on the island, this lighting event is held annually during the Chinese New Year.

The Kuan Yin Statue Pavilion of Kek Lok Si lighted up during the nights of Chinese New Year. The temple lights will remain on until February 27.
