A mural featuring a portrait of an old man (a local silversmith) found at the wall of an old shophouse in the Balik Pulau town. This ‘reverse graffiti’ mural is painted with using just water by Ernest Zacharevic, the artist who started the famous street art in George Town, Penang. This is his contribution to the Urban Xchange conference held last November in Penang.

Yet another mural painted for the Urban Xchange International Street Art in Nagore Road, George Town.
Nagore Square‘s Nagore Mews, a small area comprising of old empty heritage houses, has now become the canvas for the Urban Xchange International Street Art Festival. Featuring artists from a number of countries, the festival aims to promote the expression of arts in Penang. Organised by a Berlin-based urban arts centre and Hin Bus Depot Art Centre, the festival will have murals painted by international artists as well as local artists at various spots in George Town.
