This street art depicting two children chasing after a gorilla on a scooter, while an orang utan is looking on from a street pole, can be found at a small alley at the Ayer Itam town. The art mural appears to be created for a convenience store called Daily Shop.
Macallum Street Ghaut: Nine Emperor Gods’ Temple
The Nine Emperor Gods’ Temple at Macallum Street Ghaut, George Town.
Primarily observed by the local Chinese, the Nine Emperor Gods Festival is a 9-days Taoist celebration beginning on the eve of 9th lunar month of the Chinese calendar. This year’s celebration started last week and today is the last day. During this 9-days period, devotees will be observing a strict vegetarian diet. It was said that it usually rains on the last day of this festival.

Prangin Road originated from the old Prangin Canal in the old days was a popular water route in George Town for transportation of local goods to and from the ‘Sia Boey’ marketplace which located at the old canal area. Part of the old canal can still be seen in the picture above (the abandoned greenery area).
