George Town Street View: AH QUEE STREET (Lebuh Ah Quee)
Ah Quee Street (Lebuh Ah Quee), is an old street in George Town which is named after Kapitan China Chung Keng Kwee. An influential figure during his time, Kapitan Chung Keng Kwee (also known as ‘Ah Kwee’, hence the street name) presented this street to the local municipality after having demolished his shophouses to make way for the road.

Ernest Zacharevic’s “Art is Rubbish/Rubbish is Art”
Art is Rubbish/Rubbish is Art is an ongoing art exhibition displaying the fine works of Ernest Zacharevic (the artist who helped propelled Penang into a street art sensation). The exhibition is open to the public for free and will be running from 17 January until 14 February. This first solo exhibition by the artist will feature a number of his popular art pieces and will be held at the Hin Company Bus Depot, a former bus depot site in George Town which has been abandoned for a long time. Penang Street Art (The Girl in White)

This latest art mural painted by Ernest Zacharevic can be found on a stone slab of a ruined wall atop a rocky beach near Jalan Sultan Ahmad Shah.

Muntri Street: Penang Goldsmith Association

Penang Ta Kam Hong (or translated as Penang Goldsmith Association) is the oldest Chinese goldsmith association in Malaysia which was founded in the 1800s at Muntri Street, George Town. Most of its goldsmith members are of Cantonese descent and they generally worship Wu Ching, the patron deity of goldsmiths within the association’s guild temple.
The large art mural of the ‘Girl in Blue’ drawn by Ernest Zacharevic can be found on the side wall of a neighboring house of the association.
Penang Street Art (A Pillar of Minions)

The Penang locals’ fascination with the minions from the animated movie ‘Despicable Me’ has resulted in this traffic bollard being painted with the two of them by international artist Ernest Zacharevic, whose other wall murals in the island have gained worldwide fame. This art work can be found at Soo Hong Lane, the narrowest lane in George Town.
