The House of Yeap Chor Ee

House of Yeap Chor Ee

The House of Yeap Chor Ee was converted into a Social History Gallery a few years ago, showcasing and documenting the journey of Yeap Chor Ee, a Chinese immigrant who came to Penang in 1885.
Also served as his first house, the gallery provides a preview of Chinese immigrants’ lives in the old days of Penang. Among these immigrants, Yeap Chor Ee was known for being a simple barber who later became a very successful and famous businessman in Penang.

The House of Yeap Chor Ee is located along Penang Street in George Town. For more info, please visit its website here; houseyce.com.

Lorong Toh Aka (Toh Aka Lane) is located at the heart of the heritage zone in George Town and is an old and rather narrow street. The street was said to be the home of iron smiths back in the old days. Rows of pre-war heritage style townhouses line up the street and majority of these houses belong to the Cheah clan community.
