The Penang Tropical Spice Garden is a must visit for someone who is interested and curious about plants, the various types of spices found locally and in general, nature itself.

Apart from being the home of hundreds of plant species, the eco-attraction garden also provides a guided tour about the types of flora or spices found in the garden as well as a cooking class for visitors. There is also a Thai food restaurant and a souvenir shop located within the compound of the garden.

Butterworth Bagan: Sree Maha Mariamman Devasthanam Hindu Temple

Sree Maha Mariamman Devasthanam Hindu Temple is an old and historical Hindu temple located at the Bagan Luar area in Butterworth. The temple was found to have originated from a small hut built by the local Hindu community here in 1853 as a place of worship for the Hindu mother deity Amman. Subsequently, the temple underwent additional renovation and expansion into a beautiful and impressive temple complex today.

Penang Art Lane

Art Lane is an art gallery that features both international and local works within an old heritage pre-war shophouse at Beach Street, George Town. The art space is founded by one of the co-owners of China House, which is also located nearby. The walls within the large shophouse serve as the canvas for artists to exhibit their creativity and express their thoughts in a public space. One can enter the Art Lane from two entrances, one at Beach Street and another at Victoria Street.

Dhammikarama Burmese Temple is located just opposite the Wat Chayamangkalaram Buddhist Thai Temple, and is also one of the popular sites to visit in George Town. Various statues of buddha and mythical creatures of the Burmese beliefs can be found in the temple’s garden. The temple was built in 1803 and in 2011, the Golden Pagoda Bell Tower was also completed within the temple grounds.
